The Royal Flying Corps started using the blue outer and red centre roundel in December 1914

The B-58 was only in service for 10 years due to its high accident rate and high demand for air to air refuelling

The type was later used by the Royal Air Force and a number of civilian versions were built

being replaced by the Supermarine Scimitar and de Havilland Sea Vixen
