Gloster Javelin - Sweat Shirt Colour:Black The Sopwith Aviation Company wasGloster Javelin The Gloster Javelin entered service with the Royal Air Force in 1956 as an all weather fighter and interceptor with 46 Squadron at RAF Odiham. It was a distinctive twin engined, T tailed, delta wing jet. In a night fighter role it replaced the ageing Meteor, however its role as an interceptor was made redundant with the introduction of the English Electric Lightning.
