Instituted 25 August 1827 by King Ludwig I. (1827 1918 issue). Constructed of gilded silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a central rightward facing profile of Ludwig I circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central inscription of FR EHRENVOLLE FNFZIG DIENSTES JAHRE (FOR AN HONOURABLE FIFTY YEARS OF SERVICE) within an oak leaf wreath, above
