Constructed of stamped silvered brass, the obverse consisting of an oval lauren and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom with a bow tie ribbon, topped by a German State Crown (the crown not cut out), around a central depiction of a monoplane flying over a rural landscape, the reverse hollow, with a total of 8 holes for attachment directly to the uniform, measuring 45. 7 mm (w) x 71. 7 mm (l), weighing
