Olaf Cuaran Italian Twelve figures of humming birdsOlaf Cuaran, 10th century (1913). Olaf Cuaran (c926 981) was a Norse Gael who was king of York and king of Dublin. He was known as a renowned warrior and a ruthless pillager of churches, but ended his days in retirement on the island of Iona.
