A First War Royal Newfoundland Regiment Collar Badge Archive contact marks evident on theCanada; Browning copper, unmarked, 28. 7 mm (w) x 35 mm (h), both lugs intact, extremely fine. Footnote: On September 4, 1914, the Legislative Assembly of Newfoundland passed an Act authorizing the formation of the Newfoundland Regiment. The regiment was renamed Royal Newfoundland Regiment on January 25, 1918. It was disbanded on August 26, 1919.
