Constructed of silvered copper with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte, the obverse with red enameled arms and a central coat of arms of the city of Bremen, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of FR VERDIENST IM KRIEGE 1914 (FOR MERIT IN WAR 1914), unmarked, measuring 40. 13 mm (w) x 44. 03 mm (h), weighing 17. 9 grams, in extremely fine condition.
