Germany, Imperial. A Star Of The Grand Cross Of The Iron Cross, C.1918 GTRexclude Instituted on 14 March 1881(Stern zum Grokreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). An eight pointed radiant star constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse bearing an Iron Cross with blackned iron, the 12 oclock arm bears a crown, the 6 oclock arm bears 1914 and the centre bears the cipher W, the reverse bears a vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch with a barrel hinge, measuring 88. 48 mm (w) x 89. 26 mm (h), very fine.
