In an homage to Botticelli's "Birth of Venus" I decided to depict the immaculate birth of one of my favorite recurring characters - Bat Girl
I had been working retail ever since I dropped out of art school in the mid-nineties and after a decade of working to pay back that one year of college I was dreaming of an escape

coping with belted sanitary napkins (changed to adhesive sanitary pads for recent editions of the book)

Growth and Decay Sacrilentes In an homage to Botticelli'sDetails About Acrylic on wood panel 12 x 14 in. 2018 Inspired by his home in the Pacific Northwest, Miles Browne creates work influenced by both natural sciences and ecological concerns. He recieved his BFA from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2010. Browne currently works as a tattoo artist at The House of Tattoo in Gresham, Oregon and as the curator for the Visual Arts Gallery at Mt Hood Community College.
