I've always got an eye out for old photographs made more interesting and evocative via the effects of time and think this tintype is definitely one of those

I found this little chest in Upstate New York and was--am--totally charmed by it

with these green painted stripes

and for me super evocative

Very Excellent Naive Football Drawing #3 (Orange and White + Ref) northeast coast native with the tree(s) very muchMy very very favorite sort of drawing, and thing: its maker clearly totally invested in the action unfolding, totally committed to capturing it, and also I think absolutely imaging themselves on the field as one or all of the players. A very excellent referee here too! Happily the kid (a boy of 10 or 12 I would guess) who drew this one made a good handful (three others listed today, and I've got a few more larger scale as well.) I really have no words
