Mary Pickford mb-height 5031 Interior view of a darkenedMary Pickford (1892 1979), Canadian actress, c1930s c1940s. Pickford began her film career in 1909 working for DW Griffith. By the time she was 20 she had already appeared in 176 films and she would soon add writing and producing to her list of accomplishments. In 1920, along with Griffith, Douglas Fairbanks and Charles Chaplin, she helped to establish United Artists Pictures, a studio that was responsible for many great films for the next 60 plus
