There is a good amount of scratching to the surface and a little roughness around a few edges as pictured--signifiying that this is a tool meant to be used

Strangest are the arms--one entirely missing

it seems possible that they were chess pieces—if so

dinner table or bedside table filled with winter greens and berries

has quite an  presence

Though difficult to photograph, it's just a completely lovely thing, and while it would be nice to have a whole set, having one just for yourself makes it all the more special. Definitely it is handblown Italian Murano, and in addition to the white ribbons (Lattacino), the handle and base of the cup feature what looks like gold leaf
