I've always been a bit amazed by the prices these old folk art sock/stocking cats command

I was pretty excited to find a box full of these handmade slides at the flea market this weekend--a box in which many were rolled up in newspaper from 1945

with some inspirational cartoon planes from a newspaper glued to the back

Image is extremely clear

and now keep an eye out as I think they're just lovely

Oil on Board Peaches Still Life 4oth birthdat I've always been a bitI love an antique still life painting of fruit, and this pile of peaches with purple fig at right was beautifully executed, with a richness perfectly befitting ripe peaches! It hasn't been cleaned, and is a somewhat dark, but get it in the right light and those peaches are luminous! (Of course one could have it cleaned, but I personally like the aura and atmospherics of it just as it is, as if painted in candlelight to begin with and meant to be
