Reminds me in many ways of Spencerian calligraphic drawings, but folkier, and I especially love the handling of the jockey's face, with all those tiny ink dots making it look almost as if he were wearing a mask or that much of his face were covered in stubble, which lends a bit of eeriness to the drawing in an interesting sort
