Very fun to open this old wooden hive shaped coin bank to find all of these old charms inside

but not the other

a young girl I would bet

I especially love that the pupil of one of the tiny glass eyes is cast skyward

and I am always rather charmed by them--so much effort invested in the making of this little thing

Meant to represent a mouse I presume, with a long twisted wire tail, but with those tin wings it could very well be taken for a flying red bat! With red painted tin ears too, and nails for eyes, with one old nail in front of one ear and two in front of the other (my favorite detail). Iron
