just a fabulous little thing completely usable still should one want to grab a rubber band and a rock

but the box is in great shape

I just wouldn't fill it with anything heavy

I'd guess the foot itself  is Southeast-Asian in origin and dates to the 1950s or 60s

Id guess it once topped a post on a piece of furniture, or something, but it was clearly carved as its own piece, with no hole in it to attach like a finial. I love it now set on a shelf among other carvings and curious little things, really quite a satisfying and wonderfully
